Drafts: Quick Capture App Reviews

Geeky, over engineered for simple lists

If you need a sophisticated note taking app, it may suit you. However when I need to write down simple to do lists, which are easily available on the home PC as well, its not trivial. Markdown sound nice, but how about a simple display of bullets and check boxes?

Love it

Excellent note taking app and so much more!

Most important productivity tool in the chest

I use Drafts 4 to capture everything .... then send the pieces to their final destination. By attaching a timestamp to my Draft I have easy look-up as my source document is just a step away... no matter if the target is my calendar, a word or document, pdf document, my project manager or my GTD system. Drafts has allowed me to turn my iPad into an indispensable technology. A truly remarkable app!

Great but a little pricey

Great app...great concept...great execution. Just seems a little pricey for what it does.

Versatile and useful

I didnt find this app appealing because of the bare-bones aesthetics. Once I realized how powerful it is, though, I ditched my other tool. Im really happy with the versatility and usefulness of this app.

Very Nice Apple Watch Implementation

The best tool for taking quick notes on my Apple Watch.

Drafts: the Lord Commander of all things text

My go-to app for quickly capturing notes to later process anyplace, its actually replacing my physical pen-and-paper method and Im only using about 20% of its potential. So quick, so light and yet so powerful. Recommended to install and keep in your dock.

Ridiculously efficient

Drafts is the most amazingly productive app that you can put on your iPhone. Set up your actions and add it to your dock and watch the magic. Basically once its set up you can pretty much just go to Drafts first all the time, instantly enter whatever you want and come back later to send your text to whatever app you choose. This is truly an amazing life changing app once you "get it".

So capable. Yet so confusing.

Dont believe everything your read. The app is presented as **easy** and **go to app for text** from line one in its description, but I experienced the opposite. It can do oh so many things. But good luck finding your way around or getting to do what you actually may need. It took me 25 minutes looking for a way to rename a tab/collection and I give up now... Time for me to switch to something less demanding when it comes to writing down my thoughts on the go. quick tip: The app main settings can be accessed only when youre writing a note. If you have super complex systems in place all over the universe and youre a robot, this is the app for you. If you have human ways of writing and saving your notes, look elsewhere. It has a billion actions and things but make sure you can afford to dedicate few months learning this app. Otherwise youll find it useless as it does require a lot of time getting used to its not-so-intuitive ways of getting around. So far figuring out how to manage a notes collection has been a long and fruitless process for me. The app could be discouraging for some people. I would recommend it only to power users whos native language is Markdown English (programmers, developers and tech experts alike).

An essential app

I use Drafts constantly to take notes and then decide what I want to do with them later. It is a must have app. Incredibly functional with stellar support. Highly recommended.

Indispensable

Drafts lives in my iPad & iPhone dock, sits a swipe away in iOS’ Today View, and is an indispensable complication on WATCH. Drafts is where everything I write — whether it’s destined for a search engine, a reminder, a calendar event, an email message, or a blog post — starts out. I get it out of my head and into Drafts *before* deciding where it needs to go — not the other way around. All that without even mentioning Drafts’ automation and productivity features, which are enabled through its easily-configured actions. Version 4’s support for Markdown is awesome, and its high configurability is a real time-saver. Every single day.

Love it

A really powerful writing app from a very creative developer - love it. Most of my writing starts in Drafts. Thanks for a very useful app!

Drafts 4

I want me last review to be removed please. You can indeed send it to one note! My apologies.

Powerful App

I cant believe Id never heard of this app, or at least its capabilities. What a powerful app with endless potential for what you can do with it. I can see this becoming my go to app for a lot of things.

Drafts is a must-have

There is no better app on iOS for quick note-taking — whether you simply want to capture an idea or write something down to send it somewhere else (Mail, Messages, OmniFocus, a text file in Dropbox, Evernote, Reminders, Fantastical, Ulysses, Twitter, Day One, the list goes on) — Drafts is the way.

Simply great

Love this app for not notetaking of all kinds!

Drafts is great for quick notes

A very powerful little app for taking notes. I often want to take quick notes but Im not sure where I want to store them at the time. This is a great app for taking those notes and dealing with them later. It is also great for dealing with recurring items that one want to keep track of. I use it for tracking spam phone calls, to do items and other quick notes and reminders.

A shameful copycat

Most of the ideas and features of this app were stolen from DraftPad and Textwell.

Great!

IOSアプリの中でもお気に入り。使いやすいです。 Apple Watchへの対応も早い。今は限られた機能をどう使っていくか模索中です。Evernote(25個まで)やListBookのようにリストを見やすくできれば良いなと思います。 ☆4→☆5
