Drafts: Quick Capture App Reviews

The best note taking app

Drafts gives you the immediacy of pen and paper and the power of simple commands and scripts to process and send your text wherever it needs to go.

Thanks!

Wish it had a better icon, though:)

Excellent...

After few days working with Draft 4, I found it very useful. It is very very powerful and you can creat many useful Actions and even you can interact them with Workflow actions. Update: this update is very good. Suggestions: It would be useful if the undo key also works after running some actions like "remove blank lines" ...the undo key does not any effect on the text (however, this can be done by restoring the second saved version). And, I also like to have an option to delete all of, for example, 100 versions saved of a note together not one by one-or having a select all or delete app option.

Excellent quick note app

Fast, and lets me send note on to contacts (via Interact) or calendar (via Fantastical). Very convenient.

Desktop version needed

I wish there was a companion desktop version that I would gladly pay for. The potential is enormous considering how much I use my computer alongside my iPhone.

Amazing app

Great editor, Actions, iPad/Watch support, the whole bit. Invaluable and highly recommended.

The very core of my mobile writing world

Highest praises for you guys and your masterpiece. It sits at the very center of my mobile writing world and continues to delight. A big thank you for the thorough and relentless way you guys polish and improve this gem.

Belongs on your home screen

Drafts is great. It’s the app I go to when I’m not sure where what I’m going to write will end. Whether it’s an email, a document, or a bit of code, Drafts can help me create that. The UI stays out of your way but houses deep functionality and integrations with other apps and cloud services. It respects its users enough to allow them to customize it to fit their workflow. It hasn’t left my home screen since I bought an earlier version years ago.

My most used app

This is a wonderful app for capturing any kind of text. Text messages, emails, snippets of texts for research papers, to dos, shopping items, anything goes into this app and then I decide what to do with the text later. I even take meeting notes on the iPad version. My only "complaint" is that there is no Mac app. Also has really great support. The few times I ran into trouble the answers came quickly.

Must Have App

Drafts is my most frequently used paid app on my phone. It is an incredibly versatile starting point for virtually all text creation I do. Whether I am adding to our grocery list, creating a to do item, noting a book or movie I am interested in – all of it starts with Drafts. Long form text as well - letters, blog posts, etc. And a great community adding custom actions and keys. Dont think twice - buy it.

Love this app

I use it every day

Essential to my lifes Workflow

I use this in conjunction with iA Writer for its better Dropbox and language highlighting support. Its an amazing workflow that really works for me! Amazing doesnt even cut it. Its because Agile Tortoise rocks. Ive become a fanboy, you could say. I will be looking at my own plugin for Dropbox file management, too. The customizable keyboard is indispensable once you get it set up and grab some plugins. This sn I love it and look forward to each update! My thanks for the devs! This app is extremely configurable and has super robust settings. The file version tracking is super handy as is the geo and date stamping that you get from the useful info screen. I think that theres a few UX/UI tweaks I could see would asks. Configurable swipe menu options with assignable actions, geo stamping on versions. Still. I love it its just ... superb.

Third party Integration

This app integrates nice with OmniFocus and Evernote. I use Draft on my iOS device primarily to send my notes/task to Evernote and OmniFocus inbox account... Later on in front of my computer I start organizing all I sent.

Still king

The most flexible text editor on iOS. Love it. A lot.

Probably the best App Ive downloaded

This app is amazing. Its very good at being a word processor to sort your text into other apps (Evernote, To Do List, Facebook etc) but I actually use it as my main note taking app, note storing app and to do list. You can download the to do list action from their website. Great job.

If youve made it this far, just buy it.

For the past few years Ive had Drafts on my radar but never bought it; the $10 price point seemed steep only because I couldnt figure out what problem it would solve for me. I finally got around to buying it and instantly I regretted that I didnt buy it sooner. Ive only scratched the surface of its power but I have a sense it will become the most used app on my phone in no time. I took for granted how much of my phone use started with text input. It only makes sense to enter said text in Drafts–as it can be triggered from nearly anywhere using widgets, extensions and 3rd party productivity apps–then process the text from the app itself; all the while creating a draft that can be saved for reference later if needed. Seriously, $10 for this app is a steal, if you catch it on sale its criminal. If youve made it this far just buy it.

Easy to use with power features.

For normal users, its easy to use. For power users, it have so much awesome features.
